Ike Kligerman Barkley and associated architects Cope Associates of Knoxville, Tennessee, have been awarded an Honor Citation by the AIA East Tennessee for The Ramble Living Well Center.

The facility serves The Ramble, a new community near Asheville's Biltmore Estate.  A butterfly roof collects rainwater for irrigation, while sheltering a community lounge and a kitchen for catering and cooking classes. The rugged fieldstone plinth below houses a gym, a spa, and yoga studio, as well as a lounge for the pool area.

For sustainability, passive solar and geothermal heating and cooling technologies are used, as are local materials.  The Center’s location can be reached by The Ramble's system of wooded pedestrian trails.
